About
Safety Starts with You. The Importance of First Aid Skills.
It is true when they say that first aid saves lives. I have witnessed this firsthand, both within my working life and my home life. Do you know enough about what to do if an accident or emergency happens?
Accidents and incidents can happen at any time.
After a busy career in the military and returning to civilian life I adapted my skills as an instructor, re-qualified and started First Aid and Safety Training to help local businesses and people learn skills that can save lives.
I remember how nervous I was when I first started learning first aid, within the military, it is a vital skill that every soldier must have and be able to apply in a high stress situation, I needed to pass the required tests to progress to the next stage of training, with the right help and guidance from my instructors, I passed and realised the importance of first aid.
Later in my career, I had to use those skills in real-life situations, however, I was a member of the Royal Military Police (RMP), Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) and the RMP Reserve, I had to use these skills in various civilian situations as well.
Those skills have had to be used numerous times within my normal day to day life, from dealing with Anaphylaxis, Asthma, head injuries, wounds, stroke and many more.
Learning First Aid and what to do in an Emergency situation is something we all should know and I want to help as many people as possible learn how to help others and possibly save lives.
