Review on Child CPR First Aid Training

Child CPR first aid training is an important aspect of emergency response training. There are many schools and institutions that offer training for giving first aid, CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED. The American Red Cross is one of the most reputable organizations that offer training services. The American Red Cross stressed out the importance of CPR and that every member of an organization or the family should know how to properly conduct CPR.

CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is given to a person who is experiencing a cardiac arrest or a respiratory asset. CPR is usually given only by expert laypersons or by professional emergency responders. But with the proliferation of first aid training services, anyone is now entitled to learn the basics of CPR. One of the great challenges of CPR first aid training is giving CPR to a child. Children are very susceptible to infections and their immunity is still relatively weak. Thus, appropriate and proper administration of cardio pulmonary resuscitation must be observed.

Whether you are planning to attend a CPR first aid training or you are now practicing emergency response, this article will give you tips that serve as a review on conducting CPR for children. The first, is to make sure that your kits are supplied with useful items and tools such as latex gloves, wilderness first aid classes, notebooks, safety goggles, and pens. It is also very important to ask someone to call 911 for an ambulance. While waiting for definitive medical assistance, it is now time to give the patient a CPR.

As part of an effective child CPR first aid training, make sure to lay the patient down to his back. Avoid twisting the head, spine or neck of the patient to avoid further injuries. Now carefully open the air way of the patient through his mouth. Shut the nose of the patient by pinching it. Then slowly breathe in two long breaths while keeping a tight seal of the nose and your mouths. Continue until patient coughs out or is showing recovery signs.

According to effective CPR first aid training, CPR should only be given if the patient is not responding to the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Gently position your hands on the lower side of the breastbone. Use the strength of your body in compressing the chest of the patient. After compressions, give a slow breath and then redo CPR. There is a cycle to be observed in giving CPR so make sure to follow them. Also, don’t forget to check the pulse constantly.

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course provides the proper first aid and CPR training for your child. This course is suited to mothers and someone who is more likely to look after a child.
