The Importance of CPR and First Aid Training
Being ready for emergencies like stroke, cardiac arrest, choking, or a heart attack can increase a victim’s chances for survival if you have the knowledge and training for CPR and first aid. Knowing how to do CPR and initiate it at once increases the survival time of a victim until advanced medical help. The importance of CPR and First Aid Training can never be understated.
The goal of CPR and first aid training is to educate people, not only about the skills required for saving a life but also in prevention and safety that would greatly reduce the risks of numerous preventable accidents. CPR and first aid training, as well as an automated external defibrillator or AED training courses, are offered for colleges, restaurants, schools, Healthcare professionals, childcare providers, corporations, family members, and to almost anyone qualified to take the course.
CPR and first aid training generally focus on hands-on training, as well as informative and simple instructions. Some classes can be done at the convenience of your home or workplace and may be scheduled in any shift, twenty-four hours a day.
CPR and First Aid classes are programs intended to train individuals to correctly respond to emergency situations with the needed skills that will ultimately save lives. Learning the essentials of “basic life support”, first aid, and CPR programs will provide a person with the knowledge of step-by-step CPR and first aid lessons that are set by the guidelines of the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
All CPR and first aid trainees will receive certification upon passing the course. This will make them qualified to perform first aid tasks and CPR. Here are two CPR and First Aid courses offered at First Response:
Heartsaver Adult CPR
The course includes CPR for children over 8 and adults. The course teaches the role of AHA Chain of Survival, recognizing the four life-threatening emergencies in adults, cardiac arrest, stroke, choking, and performing CPR.
Heartsaver Aid Training
This course offers training in “basic first aid procedures” with the chance for training in AED and adult CPR. This course is for individuals assigned as first responders to medical emergencies in the community or workplace. The program includes the following modules: Children CPR; Infant CPR; Environmental: Adult CPR; Children and Adult CPR with AED.
